  1. November is still part of hurricane season but is at the tail end of its season. But there's nothing to worry about and it's highly unlikely you'll encounter any problems. Cuba is well prepared for things like this anyway and will look out for its visitors along with its citizens...but like I said, don't worry. I usually travel there around that time of year and haven't had any problems.

The temperature is more or less 26C - 78.8F and 30C - 86F and the water is very beautiful and warm.

A personal favourite of mine is Cayo Coco. It all depends on what you're looking for on your holiday. Cayo Coco is a little secluded off the main island connected by a causeway. The airport is 15 minutes away from the resorts and 45 minutes (drive) into the nearby city of Morón (in Ciego de Ávila).

It's a very relaxed atmosphere but there are a lot of things to do as well. You won't get bored...easy to relax and no one to interfere with that...and easy to access to many activities on the beach, pool, etc....

I recommend Tryp Cayo Coco...beautiful resort, amazing staff, excellent accomodations, entertainment, food, Animación Team (Entertainment Staff), gorgeous beach. The water on the beach is 3 shades of turquoise and the sand is powdery white...mind you, Varadero is a beautiful beach too.

In Varadero, you can easily mix in with the locals in the city on and off the resort..

In Cayo Coco, you can easily mix in with the locals too but you will need to be taken by the hotel's transportation to the social areas (since Cayo Coco beach is not where anyone lives. eg...Salsatec is one place where you can go with the Entertainment Staff and you will be able to mix and mingle with the other tourists from other resorts and with the local Cubans...another place is the Bat Cave).

Check out the links and see what Cayo Coco is like.

But wherever you choose, you will have an amazing time....guaranteed!

  2. Cayo Coco is beautiful but to me, I like Varadero because there is much more to do and to see and also is very close to Habana.  Best luck.

  3. Check   Weather Underground below for previous years weather.  November is a great time of year, sunny and hot during the daytime, cooler at night.  Varadero has much more activity and it's easy to make a day trip into Havana  a "don't miss" and is a good area for your first visit to Cuba.. Cayo Coco offers less off the resort but  is fantastic for a laidback visit.  Check the sites below for a lot of Cuban info.  You go once, chances are you wil be back.
