Does anyone know what the white stuff is that is forming on the bottom of my ceramic salt shaker???

  1. Salt and moisture.  It wasn't properly glazed like the coffee cup my friends son made for her.  It drank about half of the liquid that was put in it and took a week to slowly leach it out.
