It has ΣΙΔΗΡΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ, 2005 on it. (ΣΙΔΗΡΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ is a village in Greece).

  1. Not the Olympics, they weren't held in 2005

The photo below are what the Athens medals from 2004 looked like and yours does not match.  I would guess this medal came from one of Greece's Olympic Trial competitions for the 2006 Winter Olympics, which probably were held in late 2005.  The Hellenic Olympic Committee site lists seven different Winter Olympic sports Greece currently participates in.  Perhaps using their contact page to send them your picture links would find you a definitive answer.

  4. The Olympics weren't done in 2005, the last time the summer olympics were done (other then this year, of course) was 2004 in Athens. And two years ago, in '06 were the winter Olympics, which weren't in Greece.
