  1. Right the others are.. moped for "Motor - peddle" - has a small motor and you can peddle it too..

  2. Moped. pronounced - "mo-ped"

    *SL

  3. Moblelet or Moblette I think made one with the engine in the front basket driving the front wheel but i havn't seen one in years.

  4. You are probably thinking of the french VeloSolex bikes, they have an engine that drives the front wheel by means of a rubber roller.

In the wet they tend to slip a bit and smell of burning rubber, its what gives them the local name of 'stinkwheel'

You do need a licence in the UK though.

  5. The original is the mo-ped.  It is a motorized bicycle with a small enging.  There are also motor kits available you can add to a regular bike.

  6. No, definitely NOT a moped.  These are different things altogether.

What you are talking about is a 'cyclemotor' or an 'autocycle'.  They have been around since the 1950's, in various forms.

However, since they have a petrol engine, they must be taxed, registered, and insured.  Additionally, you MUST have a driving licence to ride one, by law (unless it's an electric cyclemotor).

  7. they are called mopeds

  8. yea, moped, but they also have electric bikes too. Or even adapter kits to turn your bicycle into an electric or gas bike. But, You still gotta take a test at the dmv depending on what state ya live in with anything motorized.  I think ebay has some of both just to get an idea.
