we have three cats and a dog that shed year round. not to mention me and my family lose a lot of hair all the time. It doesnt matter if i wash a small load on super we still have loads of hair on the clothing. Even after drying there is still a bunch of hair all over the clothes. we use dryer sheets, make sure the lint trap is clean and all that good stuff...and even if we use lint brushes/rollers the hair just refuses to come off...it gets woven into the clothes or something insane like that...we are haveing a really hard time keeping hair off of ourselves because its all over the furniture...any ideas on both problems?

  1. Yikes!  I have one cat and what I do with here is, on the part of the furniture that she likes to sit/lay on all the time, I put an old towel down so that I can just pick it up if someone wants to sit there when she's someplace else.  In your case, I don't know what you're gonna do with 3 cats and a dog.  Maybe throw sheets over your furniture (I'm not kidding) and then you can periodically shake of the hair and put them through a thorough washing and drying before returning them onto the furniture.

When you wash your clothes, etc. make sure to put small amounts of clothing in large amounts of water.  In other words, set your washer for a large load but only really put what would be a small or medium load size of clothes in there.  This way there's lots of room for the clothes to move around in the water, more assuring that the water and agitation will remove the hair and have it go into the lint trap.  If there's no room and everything is squashed together, it's like just dunking the clothes in the water and then removing them.

  2. Animal hair is pesky!!!  It gets woven in and hard to get out.  Have you had your washer and dryer maintenance lately maybe that would help...good luck.  Maybe ya should reconsider how many furry ones you have in the house...that might be very tough though...I know!

  3. try using the vacuum on the furniture.....Right now my dog is driivng me nuts with shedding. I vacuum my furniture every day. I'm ready to have her shaved....LOL
