Does anyone know what to do in harvest moon ds?

Basically i bought the game last week i dont even know why lol. I really dont understand what to do.. It does look a good game if you get in to it. Can anyone give me basic instructions...Best answer gets 10 points.

The games of Harvest Moon are farm simulators.  You want to try to run a successful farm and get married.

Go to http://www.gamefaqs.com  it has the most complete faq ANYWHERE about the games basics.

To start out, equip your hoe.  

Use it on the bare dirt above your house.  You want to create a 3x3 square of tilled dirt.

Equip the seeds that should be in your pack.  Stand in the center of the 3x3 square and use them.  That will seed those pieces of land.  

Next use your watering can to water those squares of land.

Congratulations, you are on your way!

Extra Tips:  Watch your character carefully as you use tools, when he falls down, stop using your tools until you have eaten something that restores stamina.  Work too much and your character will faint!

Everything in this game is basically shippable.  You can pick those weeds growing all over the place and ship them.  They are only Worth 1 gp each, but it doesn't cost any energy and there are a lot of them around!

Read the manual.  It will tell you how to use the Rucksack.  That is important if you don't want to forever be running back and forth to ship things.  It also details where to get more seeds.

First, go to the phone and buy some seeds. Then, use your hoe to make prepared land for the seeds. DO NOT PLANT THE SEEDS ON UNPREPARED LAND THAT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. Then fill up your watering can (just go to the little pond and use it), and water your plants. Be sure to water them every day.
