I've typed it into numerous search engines and ended up with a bunch of reality sites and scam sites.

I'm looking to buy a single family home & i'm looking for a web site that is solely controlled by the government to find one.

Thank you. best answer goes to who ever has the corresct web address.

  1. Your County Recorder has the entire list.  It is free.  It's best if you walk into the office.  They will help you.   If someone doesn't pay their property tax for 2 years, you can pay it.  If they don't pay up in 3 more years , you go to court.  If they don't pay up in 5 more years , they just hand you a deed and you can skip the court.

I have bought 40 of them and never owned a house.  Everyone pays up at the last minute.  I got all my money back plus 16% interest.  /

  2. Your best bet is to call a local realty office and ask them for the website of forclosed homes in the area you are interested in.  They will try and tell you that they will search for you, just tell them that if you find something you are interested in, you will call them after your search!  You don't really have to call them, but it doesn't hurt to tell them that to get them to cooperate.  Good luck!

  3. Look up the website for the County that you live in. Once there look up the Tax Collector's Office. The Tax Collector is who puts liens, then eventually forecloses on properties when taxes are unpaid.
