This website has lots of info, plus links to Wiki and other fact based sites. It's very interesting, the whole 2012 thing. Some people believe it's the end of the world. All I know for certain is it's the end of the Mayan calender and the planets will all align. That itself is freaky to me!!!

I went into panic mode in August 2000 over something like that that was predicted because of some astrological alignment.  I planned to have my children with me and holed up at a friend's house with plenty of food.  As it happened, we got stuck on a freeway in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold with no food and could not move an inch because of an accident further up the road.  If anything had happened on that day, at that time, we would have been goners anyway, so now, when anyone tells me about some creepy happening in the future, I don't waste my time worrying about it, but just look forward to whatever it is as if it is just part of the unpredictability of each moment life brings.
