Does anyone know when Ralphs gorcery company took over Alpha Beta?I was wondering when that happened

Ralph's didn't take over ALL of the Alpha Beta stores.  They bought individual stores, mostly in Southern California.  The rest of the Alpha Beta stores merged with Lucky or sold to Food4Less and Yucaipa.  Later Yacaipa bought Ralph's.

Most of the Alpha Beta's that became Ralph's happened in 1994.

Complicated answer: Ralphs didn't buy Alpha Beta - the company that owned Alpha Beta (Yucaipa Companies) bought Ralphs...and renamed the stores.
