... and whether Delta will be using them?

Will hopefully be flying with Delta as a Flight Attrendant and would love to work on these aircraft: can't find any info on the internet as to whether Delta have ordered these aircraft and/or when they are likely to be going in to service

  1. Unfortunately, Delta has not yet placed orders for either of these two aircraft.

The A380 is already in service, while the Dreamliner will most likely be in operations within the next 2-3 years.

  2. The A380 has entered service with Singapore Airlines and just this past week one of them landed in London.  The launch customer S.A. is operating two aircraft and expect a third one in Aug.  Airbus has orders for 162 of the aircraft.

    .

The 787 has incurred a couple of delays in it's first flight and first delivery to the launch customer All Nippon Airways.  ANA should get it's first 787s in spring of 2009 according to the latest Boeing press releases.  Boeing has received close to 1000 orders for this model.

  3. A380 is in service....Singapore airlines...flys from Singapore to Australia (Sydney)....As for the 787, probably a few more years....once they get the bugs worked out.

  4. Delta has not officially ordered any 787s yet.  They still have 55 outstanding orders, mostly for 737s.

Then again, there are also hundreds of 787s going to 'unidentified' customers.

  5. 380 is already in service, the 787 makes its debut sometime in february of 2010

  6. Delta only operate a boeing fleet and so that kind of counts the a380 out of the picture.

Besides Delta dont have any b747s in their fleet so i dont think they need a large carrier like the a380.

Delta's recent orders have been from the b777 family for long haul routes so they might consider the b787 but  if they do order them they prob wont get them until mid 2010's or so due to they high orders already for the 787.

  7. A380 is in service w/ Singapore Airlines with flights from Singapore to Sydney and Singapore to London. Emirates is recieving its first A380 in October.

The 787 should be coming into service sometime around 2010 with the delays the project has. Delta has not ordered any of these, but chances are it will in the future. Northwest Airlines has ordered some.
