It will indeed be a five episode mini-series titled "Children of Earth" to be shown during a single week, next spring on BBC1, and will be shown shortly afterwards on BBC America.

Spring 2009.  They are filming right no w.

In 2009, the show is going to have five one-hour episodes that make up one big story.  The episodes will be shown in the UK in a one-week period - one episode each evening.  I believe it's going to be on BBC-1.

In the US, we know that BBC America has signed the contract to air the series, but no announcement has been made regarding when it will air and whether we will also see it over a 1-week period.

EDIT:  That's my troll, Spacephantom.  I p*ssed of some little 17-year-old who is filing a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits and another teeny-bopper woo-woo believer who didn't like hearing that Sylvia Browne is a fake and a fraud.  So they've been following me all over Y!A and hitting the thumbs-down no matter what questions I answer or what answers I give.

AAAAHH!! I seriously can't wait for it to come back... but it'll be back soon now that Doctor who's over, OMG doctor who was soo great the last episode. Captain Jack rules, but hey it's a shame that Owen and Toshiko are dead. Something I read on the Torchwood website disappointed me - Torchwood's back in Spring 2009 but only made of 5 consecutive episodes something like that...that's series 3 i'm afraid
