Hello,

I want to say I DO NOT want to make the veil myself. I am just looking for a fingertip veil, made with bridal illiuson(super soft tulle) with a scallop edge that has embroidary to match my dress. I love this one

except for the flowers on it..the edging and sequin cord is beautiful, but I have NO flowers in my dress, or really even at the wedding or ceramony...please help!

  1. I designed my own with scalloped edges.  I would like to tell you it was fast, but I finished it the night before my wedding, I started it 6 months before, did not work on it faithfully. though.  I used blue beads to make tiny flowers to compliment the blue embroidery on my dress.  I used iridescent long beads and white beads they come together in a pack at the craft store.

Make sure you gather the veil to the head piece before you start your adventure.  Otherwise you will find it hard to gather at the appropriate spots.

  2. I recommend going to your local fabric store and asking the sales ladies there if they can recommend a seamstress to make you one.  The women that work at fabric stores usually know their regular customers very well, and would be able to recommend a reputable  customer that does alterations/projects.

Sometimes even the sales people do that kind of thing on the side too, so you might be able to discuss the project with them directly and find out how much/if it's possible.

  3. Buy the veil you want flowers and all...then remove the flowers and place anything you choose in their place. Before you do any of this, go to a craft store in the bridal section and you will see many alteratives.

  4. Try www.shellyleppertdesigns.com, they can custom make you a veil at a good price.

  5. Maybe something like this:

I would try looking for scalloped edge veils online. They have a lot of them out there with many different designs on them.

  6. YES!  I did it online and my veil came out better than expected...and much cheaper than at David's (who wanted $175 for the same veil I designed online).

    The website is http://occanseydesigns.com/

She is reasonable and you have a tons of options to pick from.  You won't regret it.  I'm extremely picky and I was really happy.  In the end, I paid $60 with shipping.  Check out the site and see if it's something you'd like.  If not, you can try eBay...but that can be hit or miss!  Best of luck!
