Question:

Does anyone know where I can buy very lightweight paper to send internationally?

I would like to send letters overseas to France. I heard that there is a lightweight paper to lighten the total weight of the envelope (so the postage would be much cheaper), but I do not know where to find any. If you know anything about this, as well as other tips for cutting down the price of sending international postage, that would be very helpful. Thank you.

  1. Try Stationary Specialty Stores. There is special paper that you write on and is then folded to form the envelope.

  2. I would like to know, too.  I have been looking for this kind of paper for a long time, all the local stores in my area do not carry such things anymore.  Many many years ago, I was able to find the super thin AIR MAIL letter comes in light blue, and they were wonderful.  But the good old day is over, i guess.

So if you do see and find, i would like to know, too.

  3. I remember there used to be airmail paper that was very thin and envelopes to match.

Here is a site where you can buy some..

    http://www.postpack.co.uk/acatalog/Post_...

I would also check your local stationery stores; kinkos, staples, office depot,  and even the post office.

A post card or letter(depending on the weight ) is .94 cents  for either one.
