I recently ran across 1500 Pesos from Argentina that I forgot I had. Using a foreign currency converter online the amount in U.S. Dollars was $497.00!!! My problem is where can I cash these in? That would be enough gas money for at least a month! YIKES! Did I just write that? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Assuming that they are the current peso notes, nearly any currency exchange will buy them. They do need to be the current types, though. All previous types are no longer redeemable.

For photos of all current Argentine banknotes:

    http://www.bcra.gov.ar/

Select Billetes y Monedas from the menu at left

Select Emisiones Vigientes from the sub-menu (you might have to select it a second time to get the page to come up)

Select Billetes from the web page

  2. You should be able to exchange them at almost any branch of a large bank (Bank of America, Citibank, WaMu, etc.)

  3. Or you could go to the Federal Reserve Bank in your community.  They deal in foreign currency all day!

  4. you should be able to find a place in argentina to do that im sure a casa de cambios theres a lot of them in mexico
