  1. Charity shop just throw them in to skips at the back of the shop and they end up in land fill.  The best place to try in either freecycle    http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=fre...   there will be an active one in your local area. Or, take them to your local council run recycling tip.   Good Luck!

  13. You can sometimes bring them back to the drycleaners, or consignmnet, thrift shops.  However if you have other metals do yourself and the environment a favour and bring to a metal recycler/slavage yard.  They pay you to unload your vehicle which is why so many in Ottawa go around collecting old barbeques from curbside.  Lots of weight, lots of money in your pocket.

  19. I banded them into batches of 20 and sold them with loads of other stuff at a car boot sale!

Don't bother with the wire ones too much but the plastic ones with strap hooks or clips for trousers/skirts always sell well!

I put my wire ones in my blue recycling bin at home and there was no problem.

  20. I take mine to the local laundermats and leave them hanging on the carts.

I also give them to the local seamstress who uses them to hang the finished clothes on.

My local cleaners also take them.

  27. Give them to GoodWill.  or the Salvation Army.  They can use them to display all the clothes they sell.

  28. find someone like me that needs them.  why dispose of something that someone else can use?  there has to be someone that needs them around your area.  post an add on craigslist, free hangers.  someone will take them off your hands.

  29. Check out some of your local B& B's, or just take them along to your nearest charity shop....they'll find a use for them!!

  30. do you not have recycle bins at home?

we have one general waste bin (grey), one cardboard & garden waste bin (green) and one for plastics, metals and tins (blue)  these are supplied by our local council and are mandatory ie we do not have a choice if we want to recycle we have to!

I just put them in the blue bin
