When I was growning up Marrone's Ice Cream shop on 69th street had the most amazing ice cream I've ever had. It was called Crazy Vanilla, it was basically Vanilla ice cream with blue, purple, pink, green syrups intertwined in it.

I can't even explain what it tasted like but I've been searching everywhere for it. Does anyone know where I can find Crazy Vanilla Ice Cream in the Philadelphia area? I'm willing to travel pretty far for it so if you know of a place please let me know!

  1. I love Crazy Vanilla!

Hershey's Ice Cream makes a Crazy Vanilla (only 3 colors: blue/pink/cream); many stores in the Philly area sell hand-dipped Hershey's Ice Cream, but that's no guarantee that they'll have Crazy Vanilla. I don't believe it's available in cartons, either.  (I knew someone in college who'd worked for Hershey's Ice Cream, and he told me that they didn't make very much of it, compared to the other flavors)

Since many places rotate flavors, I always keep an eye out for it--I've had more luck in Central PA, but I've seen it randomly at places like the Lancaster Farmers Market in Wayne (that was years ago, sadly...).

There's a TCBY in the King of Prussia Mall which sells hand-dipped ice cream & fresh muffins in addition to soft-serve yogurt.  They often have Crazy Vanilla, and it's very brightly-colored (like a tie-dyed t-shirt).

According to a recent article in a local paper, Frosty Falls in Bridgeport (on 96 Dekalb Street, just outside King of Prussia) serves Crazy Vanilla.  Their phone number is 610-277-8525, if you want to give them a call.
