Question Details: I am trying to locate an address in New Orleans that was noted in the 1900 census. (I would really like to get a complete set of census maps for the City of New Orleans between 1800 and 1930 but Ill take what I can get).

I did look on the US Census Bureau’s website but I didn’t see any maps from the time period I am interested in (maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place).

Note: I am not looking for high priced antique maps that are framed and for sale online. I am looking for maps to use as a research reference

  2. Call the main branch of the New Orleans Public Library and speak with the Archives section:

Another source might be the Historic New Orleans Collection:  http://www.hnoc.org/

    Good luck!

    try this.

If you send me the persons' name for 1900, ancestry has the census, but also you can work with their (text) description of the enumeration district.  Send through my profile..

  4. Visit

    http://www.census.gov

If you cannot find the answer that you are looking for, call the National, or your Regional Census office -numbers are listed on the same site.

    Good luck.

  5. Call  your nearest large depository  Library and ask where maps such as these can be found.  Some states have one or two depositories that keep these maps.

    good luck.
