Try this rescue group if you are looking for a bulldog as a pet and not to show.  There's lots of bully babies just aching for a new home and I'm sure Lonestar can help you find the right match.  Most bulldogs that go to bulldog rescues are pure bred bulldogs, but with rescues, you do not get papers as they are never to be shown (though, most can compete in agility competitions) and are meant to be pets only.
