  1. I agree with the 'Zimmer frei' set.  Find a web page for whatever city you are travelling to.  There should be a listing of accomadations.  I was able to find a great place for my parents this way.

  2. You can always sleep on the sidewalk.

  3. I own a hotel here!  Depends WHERE in Germany you want to stay though.  Unless you are in the cities there arent many hotels..Bed and Breakfasts or "Fruhstuckpensions" which will be your cheapest option.  Many people just have one or two extra bedrooms in their homes they let out and you will see a "Zimmer Frei" sign which means  " A room available"  If you need help ahead of time, let me know where you are going and I will find some links for you.

  4. www.tripadvisor.com is the best website to find a place to stay...put in the county and city, and you will find it! tell us the city??? I always stay in pension, or zimmer free, and always had a great place to sleep and eat!

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g18733...

  5. No particular place huh... just in all of Germany

stay at a hostel... European hotels aren't cheap

I wouldn't want to see the one that was

  6. Hi, try www.hrs.de

I book always at  that place-normally good deal!

    Happy vacation!

  7. Check out hotels.com or something. I also think you can get one in any town there. Is there a Hostels.com? I wonder?

  8. When I went I used http://www.bookings.org.  This will find you the cheapest hotel in the area you want to go to.  If you are unsure where you want to go then I suggest the former East as it is cheap as chips.

  9. germany is not cheap, well. um, depends on where you go...

try the internet for some information.

    for hostels, go to www.djh.de

  10. Forget hotels.  Plenty of private houses have signs out the front saying ZIMMER FREI.(Room Free)  Cheaper than hotels, and the included breakfasts are huge.  Check them out

  11. There are plenty of youth hostels throughout Germany (and the world). Check out Hostelling International - http://www.iyhf.org/

I've found several hostels through them. You can get private rooms, as you would in a hotel, the only exception is that you might have to share a bathroom. Also, if you are going during off peak season (before mid April  and after Labor Day) check out deals on orbitz or expedia.com. Good Luck.

  12. Larger Cities have Youth hostels. Otherwise you need to go on the cities website and search for hotels and e-mail them.

Hotels in smaller cities are usually less expensive.

  13. Where in Germany do you want to stay at???

I would try either a "pension" ...look for the sign "Zimmer frei" (room available). These are usually very affordable and come with a good breakfast.

Google maybe "Bed & Breakfasts" or also Youth Hostel....
