I think the important thing is to improve the odds and get systematic.  And don't expect miracles.  

The software I like is R-bet.  

R-bet has given me quite good profits.  But as always remember to keep in mind what you can afford to risk.

There's one. I invented it myself. But it only works 95% of the time. You start with a thousand dollars with the goal of making a 100 dollar profit. You start by looking at the pylon for a number not shown. Let's say black 10. That means 10 hasn't hit in at least the last ten spins. Your first bet will be a street bet (9-10-11) of $10.00. That's because it pays 11-1. If one of the numbers hits you're paid $110. You've met your quota on the first spin. If you lose you HAVE to have $110.00. Do the same thing again. How the system works?  Let's say you've lost forty times in a row. That means your 1000 has decreased to 651, meaning you need 449 dollars to get your money back plus a 100. A single number play pays 35-1. 449 / 35 = 12.83. So you bet 13 on one number. 13 x 35 = 455.  455 + 651 = 1106. See #41.

You're guaranteed to win as long as your number doesn't go 81 spins without coming up.  The 71 listed above and the ten on the pylon. If you want to increase your chances even better, then look at the pylon, memorize, wait ten spins, then focus on a number that hasn't hit in the last 20. There are only 38 numbers on a roulette wheel. The chance of your number hitting within 81 spins is 95%. But be careful. There is that slim chance you'll pick the 1 or 2 numbers that won't see daylight for a long time.

The game has a 5.26% house edge, no matter what your betting system is.  This is why you never see a professional roulette player.

The closest I've seen to a system was a group who would study the wheels to find one with a natural imperfection.  After collecting something like 10,000 spins, they analyzed it through a computer and once they found a wheel with a natural bias, they exploited that table betting the numbers that were more likely to come up.

The casinos caught them, banned them, and eventually started switching wheels around to make it impossible to capture meaningful data.  Also modern wheels are monitored by the casino to ensure they are random.

After reading several books and taking quite a few trips to Vegas and some local casinos, I've learned a few things.  Some people may find what I'm going to say as unethical, but it's what really happened to me. I've encountered dealers that can hit certain sectors of the wheel.  If you are betting for them, you'll be surprised at how many times you'll win. The same can be true if you're not tipping.  I've had dealers tell me that they'll hit a zero to clear out a table of non tipping people. I've also had a dealer in Lake Charles, after seeing me tip him several times, slightly lean over the table and mention five numbers I should be betting during his shift. And yes, those numbers came up, almost every time.  You have to look for older dealers in nicer casinos like Bellagio for example for the most experienced dealers.  These guys can get bored and sometimes will "help" you out if you're taking care of them.  Of course, this isn't a system, but more of being polite and respectful to the dealer and if they're able to, they'll attempt to hit your numbers. But you have to know the wheel and board layout good enough to give them a target.  Don't just throw random bets on the layout.  Most dealers don't look at the wheel as they are releasing the ball, so a sign that they're trying to "help" you is if they give a peek to where they're releasing the ball.  I'm surprised at how most people don't tip, or tip very little after a good win.  They don't expect a tip if you lose, but there's nothing wrong with throwing a little something their way if they help place bets and run a clean table.

     The best thing that you can do on your own is have a good working knowledge of the numbers on the wheel.  This probably, above all else, will help you win more often.  This will help you see "footprints" that a dealer may be leaving.  Is he/she hitting in a certain sector of the wheel for more than four or five spins?  This could indicate that the dealer has gotten into a pattern and it's the perfect time to jump into a game and place bets in that area.  The best way to see these patterns is to go to a casino with at least 8 to 10 roulette wheels with number boards.  Some casinos like South Point in Vegas do not have number boards for their roulette wheels, so this strategy wouldn't work there obviously.  I can't tell you how many times I've seen patterns start to develope and not be able to place a bet because the table was so crowded. Very frustrating!

   There are people who don't believe that dealers can hit a certain sector.  Go to casinodealers.net and read first hand just how much control the experienced roulette dealers have.  The only other thing I can say is money management.  Stick to your game plan and don't drink too much.  :-)
