Does anyone know where I can get a walk in outdoor aviary for parrots?

I am looking for a walk in aviary to put to Eclectus parrots in. I prefer the octagon style, but I'm not too picky. It has to be about 5 feet in diameter and made of heavy iron. Everything I am finding is over 2 thousand dollars. Does anyone know where I might look? Thanks!

  1. Look around at hardware stores and ask around for a good handyman.  You can probably build one yourself or have a handyman build it for you.  Octagon is a nice shape but the birds might prefer a long sided rectangle for flight.  Another good idea is to attend a bird mart and see if any of the vendors may have some ideas or products for you to build an aviary.  Bird marts and pet stores often sell books on building aviaries.  There is probably something online, too.  Iron rusts.  I think you want steel.

  2. I am not sure iron is a good choice.  If it is outside the enclosue has to be made with small metal walls such as wire hardware cloth so rats and other preditors can not get in at night and kill your birds.  Rats and mice can squeeze through tiny places and they will kill or make your birds sick.  Do a google search for outdoor bird aviary or outdoor bird aviary plans.  It is usually cheaper to build your own. There is alot to think about to keep your pet birds warm and safe while living outside.

  3. Try Corners Limited. They have a lot of ideas and supplies for building your own cages or they can build one for you.
