I've been watching old TV shows like The d**k Van d**e show and the more I see these rotary phones, the more I want one. Does anyone know where I can get one besides ebay?

  1. Try a Goodwill type thrift store...But be aware they may not work in some areas. I would'nt pay more than $5 for one either. Millions of them have been thrown away.

  2. You can try craigslist.com. But I really think your best option is going to be Ebay.

  3. Interesting...what are these you call rotary phones?

  4. Antique stores, pawn shops maybe. They won't work though, as the phone system has been converted to digital and touch tone, so rotary does not work.

To elaborate, rotary phones use "pulse dialing", while modern phones, and phone systems, use touch tone dialing. So even if the phone was in perfect working order, it wouldn't work with the phone systems. At the very least, you wouldn't be able to make calls, possibly not even receive them.

  5. try calling your local thrift shops or check out some local flea markets

  6. I used to manage a thrift store... that would probably be your best bet. You could look in some antique shops, but you would probably pay way too much.
