  1. I know that when I visit Germany, the car rental places always have them for rent.  Try one of them in your area.

  2. Companies try very hard to maintain a selection of new child seats which are in good condition, they are often abused and maintaining their condition can be a difficult task.

It is always the customer’s responsibility to fit the child seat, which can cause a problem if customers have to fit a child seat which they are not familiar with.

Customers who choose to hire a seat from a car hire company, should check it thoroughly and ensure that it is fitted correctly and never drive away in the hire vehicle when children are not properly restrained in a suitable child seat.

  3. Why don't you just go to a Salvation Army or Oxfam or Goodwill or any of the used clothing stores and BUY one for a couple of bucks.

  4. depending on the age of the child you can buy a booster seat for around £5 the child would have to be at least 4

  5. are people actually allowed to hire those kinds of things out ?  i would have thought there would be a lot of regulations involved in anything like that.  afterall,  how would u know whether that car seat has been involved in an accident,  or whether it's still structurally sound ?   how old is her child ?  if he/she is old / tall enough,  u could get away with buying an inexpensive booster seat.  i think the child would need to be at least 3 or 4 years old though before u could consider that.

i wouldn't recommend buying a second hand car seat either - again,  u just don't know the history of it.  safest thing to do is to buy a new one.  check out online deals and sales.

  6. How old is the child?  You can buy boosters (suitable from around age 3 depending on the build of the child) for around £10.  Cheaper than hiring them.
