William Slate came to New England in the late 1600's but died in England in the early 1700's. I have more specific dates if necessary. I don't know the exact town where he may be buried.

  1. Here is a website that may help you.   Perhaps you can contact some of the local agencies or societies listed here for more information.

  2. I have searched on the National Burial Index 2nd.edition.

for William Slate, no Slates came up but there are 3 Slades

for Suffolk in the early 1880s.

So I would suggest that you consider looking for the alternative of Slade also.

The Index is nowhere near complete, it is "a work in progress", but short of searching through every parish burials register for Suffolk, there is no other way of finding him, unless a Suffolk family history society has transcribed all of the registers.

This is a list of publications available on CD from Suffolk FHS  http://www.suffolkfhs.co.uk/public/cds.h...

I've just found this, no Slates !
