Does anyone know where a good place to volunteer as a 12 year old?

Church, public library, red cross, hospital, school, etc.

You could also go to a local volunteer connection place and look at what they have available.

In my community, 12-year olds volunteer at the library, shelving books and helping children with crafts/ facepainting at the annual library festival.

They volunteer at the church nursery playing with toddlers. Maybe your church nursery can use an extra pair of hands. Call the church office and find out who runs the nursery.  While you have the church secretary on the phone, ask her if there are other needs which might be appropriate for a 12-year old. Is there an elderly church member who needs her leaves raked or garden weeded?

Nursing homes always appreciate young faces. Can you sing or play an instrument? Do that. If not, you can still play checkers or read aloud. (Many old people cannot see well enough to read any more, but still like to listen.)

You might also call up a retirement home and see if they need volunteers.  Usually parks will do clean ups and stuff like that if working with people isn't your thing.  Call up an animal shelter.  I'm sure they'd love the help.
