Corinto is located in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua in the department of Chinandega. It was named in honor of a city is Greece called "Corinth".

The answerer above says he was there in the 80s, he should be considered a criminal. In the early 80s, after the U.S. supported dictator was forced out of power via the Sandinista Revolution (aka Nicaragua Revolution), the CIA-led U.S. Navy Seals bombed and mined the harbor of Corinto. Corinto is a small port town so that attack alone was devastating to our economy. All that violence just because the U.S. wanted their supported Dictator to rule our small country and take advantage of out natural resources and put people to work as slaves.
