  1. who says most of the people who post on here are from america? i don't

  2. Ain't happenin. The airlines have waaaay too many qualified applicants.

  3. Lol John B i think your incorrect up there, there is still a shortage of pilots i beleive in the UK/Europe anyway, wether its different in the USA i don't know.

Hi Ashley P, I am the same age as you & in the same position as you are, my dream is to become an airline pilot, and one day i will fulfill my dream.

I am also currently doing my GCSE's too, after you finish your GCSE's, i recommend you go to your nearest airfield and take a few further taster flying lessons like I am doing, once your happy with the feeling & you still want to become an airline pilot i recommend to ethier wait till your 18 and apply for CTC Wings or self fund your PPL training until your 18, this will set you back around £6,000+ depending on where you are training.

Another option is to wait another year and a half & join the Royal Air Force, but seriously... althought you get trained for free, you have to do a whooping 12 years of service if your a pilot & you may get called out depending on which sqaudron you are in, is it seriously worth the risk? :S.

Good luck in your GCSE's & lets stay in touch! :)

  4. Don't ignore John B, since he is correct.  It isn't going to happen.

  5. In the USA the only way to get this is join the Airforce or Navy as a piliot.

Anywhere else in the world would be similar, unless you ask for corporate sponsorship from an oil company.

  6. Don't you hate it when people use acronyms that others may not know?  I know hundreds of them from aviation, but I try not to use them around people who aren't familiar.  Of course, I'm sure just about everyone in your country knows what GCSE's are, and even I know what the RAF is.  However, I have no idea what GCSE's are.  I'm in the USA, and I thought this answer board was for people in the US.  I thought they had one for people in other countries.  Maybe not.  Anyway, most of the people who post on here are from America.  Thanks for playing.
