  1. Yes - it's called your local library.  Or your local bookstore.  Or Amazon.com [they even have used books for great prices].

The ships tours will be on the expensive side.  And if you're going to visit ruins, the ship's tour is the only way to go, because such trips usually involve lots of time on a bus and if you're late getting back for some reason, they ship will wait for you.

Depending on when you're going, Costa Maya may not yet be reopened [they had a devastating hurricane last year].  Coz has a trip to Tulum, which is supposed to be beautiful but it's a VERY long trip [you have to ferry back to the mainland, then bus it down to Tulum and then repeat on return].

For great info on your ports, you can go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call".

    Have a great time.

  2. Go to Barnes & Nobles, Borders or Amazon.com - Foders makes great travel books as well as Zagats - they both have restaurant ratings, hotel ratings etc...

  3. Have you tried your local library or book store?

Borders, Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, etc?

You might also be able to find videos on where you're going also.

You might also try back issues of travel magazines.
