  1. Ground temperature will vary, even between areas close together.  Presence of water or moisture, soil type and depth all enter affect the temperature.

    I hooked a hose to a piece of PVC pipe and "hydrauliced" it to a depth of about six feet, and stuck an outdoor thermometer down the hole, here in Martinez CA.  Winter to summer the temperature there runs from about 53 to 68 degrees F.

    This is a quite acceptable temperature.  Before I install a geo system, I will consult with experts in the field.  It does take some engineering knowledge and skill.
