  1. You can try your local health department, they may be able to recommend treatment on a sliding scale based on your income.

  2. Even without insurance you can go see a doctor, it will just cost a bit more for you out of pocket because you'll have to pay for it, as well as any testing etc.

Are you needing to go have a physical for school? I'm not sure what your current situation is but have you tried or looked into a free clinic or any state type programs that could be available to assist you since you have no insurance?

You can also ask if there is a discount for cash paying patients. Some providers will indeed give a discount, but only if you ask for it, they aren't going to just offer it up to every single person who is coming in with cash in hand.

And if all else fails, you can always take a look at an alternative option to insurance, as in a discount health card. http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/cberney If you are going to have to go to the doctor, and you don't have insurance or other options, you might as well see if you can save on your out of pocket expenses in some way. And if you do need to have any blood work done, or urinalysis, any testing that may be required for a school exam, you may find that you can save a great deal with that alone.

Hopefully this helps answer your question a bit. And if there is anything else that I can help with or if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Good Luck!
