  1. I can not help you with where to find it but if you did have this in mind... any used cage you get make sure you wash it well with water and vinegar (no chemicals please) before you use it, you never know if a bird had dies of disease in an old cage and it can be passed on to your birds. So wash it throughly with hot water, then water/white vinegar half/half then leave it in front of sunshine for a while, then you can wash it with hot water again to get the vinegar smell off the cage before bringing it inside.

  2. I have found some great cages using eBay.com

Edit:  You can use the local search on eBay...  You may not be able to find anything immediately but if you keep an eye on it, something will eventually pop up. You can get a nice cage for very little, especially if you only shop locally.

Craigslist also works but that can take time.

Sometimes second hand furniture stores have them.

Garages sales do too but that can be time/gas consuming.

    Good Luck.

  3. try http://critter-cages.com

  4. I've found good cages/excllent buys searching classified ads.  I got a California Cage (with playpen on top and all 5 feeding bowls) for $150.  Since you're familiar with craigslist.com also check garage sales.  People will ususally list a cage they're selling especially if it was a bit pricey when they first bought it.  If you get a second-hand cage though, be sure to clean it well. Go over all surfaces with a sponge or cloth soaked in a bleach solution. I do this 2 or 3 times a year for all my birds and wash their cages in the backyard with a high volume hose attachment.  Rrinse it well and let it dry in the sun for a day.  It's better to get new perches and food cups unless the cups are porcelain. These clean up nicely with a good bleach wash and a thorough clean water rinse.  I've also had a cage built using wood and because birds are really sensitive to chemicals and such, I had it burned-finished using a torch. I used hardware cloth instead of bars and acrylic sheets for front sliding doors.  It measures 3'x3'x4.5' and cost me about $65 for materials. Also be sure any cage you get is bird-safe - stainless steel metal or coated with rust proof paint.  Anyhow, good luck with your search.

  5. You can check on Kijij (if you live in the USA or Canada).  It is like a classified ad online.

  6. Try checking out second-hand stores in your area. I have seen large birdcages in some in my town , Didnt price them though

  7. Costco, Walmart, Petco, and ebay all have reliable cages that will stand up to wear and tear.

  8. What State are you in?  I have a couple cages that I am no longer using.  What kind of bird is the cage for?

  9. Freecycle.com maybe

    good luck

  10. You could try eBay (local search) instead of just the regular search.  You could look in Petco, Petsmart, or any other pet stores.  I would look for a cage in the same pet store that you bought the other one from.  You can get it from second-hand shops, too.

Once you get the cage, make sure that it is cleaned to prevent your bird from getting any diseases.
