  1. First you'll have to go the conical of Spain, and get permission to live there. If you are a American resident, you will lose it if you are out of the country for over six months at a time. Also I recommend you visit first and scoop it out, you'll need to get certified in your field of work from the local city you'll be working in. Also most of all Europe gets paid once a month, at the end of the month, so it'll be hard getting use to that. You'll also want to work in a big city like Barcelona, it's very beautiful, with lots of people. Good Luck!

  2. The answer about infojobs was right, also try typing in google something like "belleza empleo" "teraupeta de estética trabajo" and have a look. How's your Spanish level? I live in Barcelona and I honestly think it's a great city to live in (beach, good weather, tons of things to do, nightlife...). What does people mean by long hours? I'm sure they can't differ that much from the States. Like, I start working at 9:00 am, get out for lunch at 1:30 PM, back at 4:00 pm and out at 8 pm. It seem a normal schedule to me.  Also, it's pretty normal to get payed the first days of the month, isn't? Or I'm very curious. When do they pay in USA, every week?

  3. Check with the Spanish embassy in your country for the residency requirements.  I whole heartedly agree that it is a good idea to have an extended visit before you go to live, especially if you have not traveled extensively outside the country where you live.  I used to live in Spain, and it is really wonderful.  But people work different  and really quite long hours there.  Be prepared for a totally different outlook!

  4. hola! i'm from BCN, so i apologize for all the mistakes i can do writing this. i don't know where would you like to go, but if you want to find a job here.. www.infojobs.net it's a web that has many offers. good luck!

  5. You would first need a Job Contract here in Spain, Before Coming over so that the Spanish Consulate in the City near you can give you a work permit to work here..  Then once you have that you can come over..  I know thats what i did, I have been living in Barcelona for 7 months now, it took me 5 months to find a good job contract ( the salaries aren´t the best) but the Lifestyle is very much worth it..

    Good Luck...

  6. Best to take a holiday there and have a look around

  7. I live in Spain and I am British expat here, I have lived here for 10 years now and although it can be hard to get yourself settled and find work, you will find that Spain is moving on in leaps and bounds and the opportunities are now greater, there is a great recruitment website that will be able to help you and have a good selection of jobs in all areas, they also have a good advice centre that will help you get to know the areas

Good luck in your search and if you need further help give me a shout :)

By the way you can just come here without paperwork and get yourself an NIE when you arrive here, Spain and the UK are in the EU now so any company you work for will sort out your social and your papers you require to work, don't worry about that too much .- trust me been here a long time ;)
