  1. Your Child Advocacy Center seems to have an active program going.

    Check them out at http://www.childadvocacycenter.com/Volun...

    There's a national center at http://www.dontshake.com/Audience.aspx?c...

You might check with the hospitals, etc.

Good luck. There's no doubt that it's a worthy cause.

  2. Shaken babies are usually children of frustrated parents who don't know much about what to expect from babies or how to soothe them. Whatever you can do to educate new or prospective parents about babies will help lower their frustration. Anything you can do to make their lives easier, like a free hour or two of child care, especially in the evening, when babies are fussy, or making sure that physical needs (like food) are met, would be helpful.

You could contact the health dept. They know, and might be able to share with you, families who're at-risk. Without saying anything confrontational, you might be able to spend time with these folks, giving them a break and demonstrating how to soothe their baby.
