Does anyone know where or how to go about looking for an apprenticeship for tattooing?

I am 20 yrs old and it is my LIFE MISSION to become a tattoo artist. I live unfortunately in the tattoo illiterate state of South Carolina so it is very difficult for me to find any tattoo artist around here at all.

Oh, and does anyone know what larger city near Florence SC I could move to to farther advance my tattoo interest [such as charlotte, atlanta, etc.]?

just go to nearest shop and talk to the main artist and talk to him about being his apprentice

I think you'd have to get like an apprenticeship with a tattoo artist like in his shop. I know some require you to have your own equipment and you might have to pay a fee to work there, but everyone is different. I know a few guys here that just worked out of their own garage for years relying on word of mouth til they actually got their own shop. Good Luck and follow your dream no matter what!
