  1. Kensington might have some

  2. Hi, Sophia,

I don't know the name of the stall but my daughter picks it up for us at The St. Lawrence Market along with our supplies for sushi and sashimi.

    The Muse

  3. Try the chinese food markets in the stores on Spadina Ave (north of Queen St.)

  4. I am a former chef and buy it on a regular basis, the 2 Japnaese store downtown, Sanko on Queen at Slater and Little Tokyo in the Kensington Market have it in packets, but I buy mine at Noah's Natural Foods on Bloor just half a block east of Spadina, you come out of the subway station, stay on that side of the street, turn left at the ScotiaBank and down past the Pizza Pizza outlet is Noah's.

There in the bulk food section, you can buy it by the piece, in fact they have a pair of scissors to cut off a small piece, place it in a bag and it is sold buy the pound, I get a piece about 3 inches long it is about 4-5" wide, and cost around $3, then when you get home cut it into smaller peice, as it is for flavouring dashi or miso soups a piece 1 X 2" is fine so you will get 6-8 pieces depending on the piece you buy, add it to boiling water, let it steep like tea, remove and use the broth for your soup or other prep.
