  1. Have you checked online and in local papers ect for ads? Is there a particular breed you wanted or are you just looking to give a dog a nice home?  I would strongly suggest you buy from a good breeder just to save yourself health/behavioural issues later on,  think about what a new companion is really worth ...

  2. I read your earlier question where you said you are opening a dog grooming business and are considering selling dogs as well.  Since your primary business will be dog grooming, I think it would be terribly bad for that business to also sell puppies.  Most people who will pay to have their dog groomed also know that selling puppies commercially is unethical and inhumane at its core.  I, and every one I know, would NEVER even consider doing business with a groomer who also sells puppies.  "Wholesale puppies" and "puppy mill puppies" are synonymous phrases.

It sounds like you are just looking for some profitable way to augment your dog grooming business.  There are plenty of things you can sell that would be more appropriate, like leashes, collars, sweaters & coats, etc., etc., etc.  Not to mention specialty shampoos and conditioners, jewelry, seasonal costumes.  The list goes on and on.  These are all things that CAN be bought wholesale and sold at considerable profit.  Also, there is very little cost associated with maintaining your inventory, unlike the enormous cost and responsibility of caring for an inventory of living puppies.  Oh yeah, what will you do with the puppies that don't sell and become DOGS?  Do you think you can still make a profit when you have to give money to the vet when one or more of the puppies becomes ill?

You may consider me one of the "crazy people" but I'm just asking that you reconsider your business plan.  By selling puppies you are more than likely to ruin an otherwise perfectly good business venture.

  3. Wholesale?! That's what you when you go to Costco!

    You can't buy dogs wholesale!

    Go to http://petfinder.com

You can get great dogs that are cheaper than most, and most of the dogs aren't way too young, maybe older than 3 months, so they are usually a bit more socialized and more trained.

Are you sure you're ready for a dog? They can live 10+years,

  4. Are you trying to open your own petstore, or honestly don't feel you can afford the initial cost of a puppy?

If it's the latter, there are ways to get around it.

Would you please give more details?

  5. Going directly to the source is your best bet, for price and quality. Find a good breeder to buy your puppy from. One that breeds for quality not quantity. You'll spend a bit more than you would at the puppymill, and a bit less than you would at a petstore. And in the long run, you'll save money on vet bills and care.

  6. Wholesale?

If you want a purebred puppy that is well-bred, you go to a reputable breeder. And that will cost you. And, that's info you'll have to search for on your own time (we don't know what breed you seek, after all)

If you want a less expensive option, and wouldn't mind possibly getting a mix, you adopt or seek a breed-specific resuce.

    And, dogs aren't sold 'wholesale'

  7. There isn't really "wholesale" puppies.

To find a puppy that doesn't come from a puppy mill, go to a reputable breeder.

You didn't mention what breed you're looking for, if you visit the breed parent club website of whatever breed you want, they should have a breeder list or a place where you can request information of breeders near you. Another option is to go to dog shows or other dog events (agility, herding trials, etc) and speak to people there that have the breed you want, they may be breeders themselves, or can likely give you a few breeder recommendations.

    .

  8. "Wholesale"? Are they living creatures, or DVDs? That kind of terminology is not generally used with dogs unless you *are* dealing with puppymills.

Are you looking for a breeder referral? For what breed?

  9. There is no such thing as wholesale puppies that don't come from puppy mills unless someone is lying (in which case there is still no such thing).

  10. wholesale?

Your not buying food for crying out loud your buying a living breathing puppy something you will have to dedicate the next 10 years of your life to?

You can't buy a whole sale dog from anything other then a backyard breeder or a puppy mill.

Yes we are going to suggest adoption and yes we are going to tell you about puppy mills...as WHOLESALE dogs do nothing but come from them!
