Does anyone know where to find good deals on a volunteer trip to India?

I looked atplaces like i to i, but I still think thay are too expensive. Are there any programs that offer (really) cheap flights and accomodations to students who want to volunteer?

500 dollars?  

There's one that's in Calcutta through GVN that's quite reasonable - http://www.volunteer.org.nz/programs/ - less than $800.  One of my friends did a GVN program and enjoyed it immensely.  

When I traveled to that part of the world, the cheapest flight I could get in the off-season was $1250.  That's probably what you'll end up paying, if not a bit more, as flight prices have increased with gas prices in the past couple of years.
