Question:

Does anyone know where to find out about more pool tournaments?

I play pool, 8 and 9 ball mostly and play at the local bars often as well as thier weekly tournaments when work allows. I lose to the same people every week and it is kind of disheartening. I want to expand playing pool and possibly begin the journey to go pro. I live in Tallahasee Florida but I travel to Cincinnati often. Thanks.

  1. Kind of a hard question  but im here now. are you looking for bar tourns or pro they dont go hand in hand

if you turn pro you just gave up amature tourns which is what most bar tourns are most of my players are all amatures but there real hot sticks they make more than the pros after all is said and done we go to lost wages in may just for a change of pace but money won dosnt really matter

we shoot for some serious calcuttas but our tourns are 24 players give or take 2or3 the top end is usually 12 to15 hundred not bad for a room full of amatures or so called few years back one our shooters Bobby Pechetcho came in 3rd behind Johnny Archer  & Jermey Jones aint bad But what im babbling about is stay amature almost sounds like you expect less competion out on the road than your getting at home maybe first you take out the guys that have been beating you then at least you got confidence

instead of cinci.turn left and drive over to houston between us and Bogies And o couple more rooms you will find out real quick if you realy want to do this   then about your job thats another decision i been doing it for 50 years almost i can tell you it aint for everybody

a few decades down the road all you got is a dozen cue sticks and a bunch of stories

Any Regrets  h**l naw       Good Luck Johnny

  2. Go to the BCA web site.......or the APA.........either one of those sites can get you in the right direction but you have to be a member of them to enter . you can always call the local pool halls and ask if there is any action going on when you get it the area but alot of them are touchie about giving out to much info if they don't know you. I'd stick with the BCA or APA sanctioned matches if you want to go pro.

  3. Go to pooltournamentsonline.com , click on the link that says"find a tournament near you" , Type in your info and see what you come up with. Unfortunately there are a lot of tournaments that aren't listed on the internet. Good luck to ya!

  4. type in schedule of pool tournaments in your search engine and it should bring up some.   Hey, good luck.

  5. Well most small local tournaments are not listed online but huge well known ones are. Check out bca.com or pooltournamentsonline.com
