Does anyone know where to find some amazing, non-typical conservation facts?

I need to gather six pages worth of unique, non-typical conservation facts. Everything I've found so far is just so well know. Any suggestions?

Try you're local Soil & Water Conservation District. Almost every county in the U.S. has one, usually listed under county offices in the phone book. They deal with all aspects of erosion control, sub-surface drainage, rangeland management, livestock waste containment structures among a few topics.
