  1. Nobody will teach you about pressure points unless you have been in their school for a LONG time!

The teacher must know you well enough to know that you will not abuse the techniques.

  2. I actually can recomend several good instructors in the detroit Michigan area. All of the ones that I know of are Isshin-Ryu instructors, because that is the style that I train.

    Sensei Dan Holloway

    Sensei Norbert Donelly

    Sensei Willy Adams

All of these gentlemen have their own schools, they should be easy to google.

All of these gentlemen come from the marines who brought the style back from Okinawa, or their top students. The last i knew all of them were teaching unwatered down traditional Isshin-Ryu karate. Isshin-Ryu karate does have many pressure point techniques, as do all Okinawin karate. I am not talking the I touch you once you fall down, or the George Dillman bs, but actual Okinawin techniques. That being said I have seen them work, even against fully resisting opponents, but i have also seen them fail. I do not do them, because I do not want to trust my life to them, since many people don't feel them.

With all of that being said, even if you do train under any of these gentlemen, it will take many years before you gain enough trust to be shown anything of this nature. Do not let this stop you from training, by any means, just realize that nobody who actually knows how to utilize them will show you right from the start. If they do it's a pretty good bet they really don't know what they are doing.

What it will take is years of hard, sometimes brutal training, and getting a solid foundation in the basics first, so you cna even comprehend what is being taught, and to prove yourself to them that you will not use it for what it is intended for.

  3. You won't learn about those right away.  In my dojo, that's an adult black belt only subject.

  4. not in that area but any dojo should have someone that knows just go in and ask the right questions...be humble

  5. presure points dont work on everyone...

you cant take me down trying to use presure points i know this because i have multiple instructors who have finally found ot these techniques dont work on me but they work on everyone else in the class.

anyway if you want to learn presure points try find somewhere that teaches kung fu or ninjitsu im pretty sure they teach you lots of prsure points.
