I want to find some of the Nancy Drews in hardback. I looked on Amazon used books, and although the books themselves are only one cent a piece, they cost 4 dollars a piece to ship, EVEN if you're buying from the same seller.

  1. Target, walmart, bamzu, ebay,

  2. Go to garage sales...or better yet...advertise in your local newspaper or go to a thrift store in your area.

  3. Have you checked Ebay?

  4. half.com  (it's branched off of ebay) It's like ebay that people list their books, but you don't have too bid and wait, you just click on it to buy it.

  5. You can always try listing a Wanted to Buy on Craigslist in your area, or others, and list what you want and that you want to minimize the shipping costs.  You might find someone with a nice collection they will part with, and ship the bulk using a low-cost rate such as USPS Media Mail.

    Good luck

  6. There are some great websites that allow you to trade books, CD's, DVD's etc. See my profile for link to titletrader and paperbackswap. This allows you to get rid of an item you no longer want and get something you do want in return. Titletrader is awesome because you can trade books, dvd's, cd's, games and vhs tapes. So if you get rid of a book you may be able to get a dvd in exchange. Paperbackswap is only for books. This is a great way to unload some stuff from your bookshelf and stock up on new stuff you want to read.  Both sites are great!

  7. Paying the $4 is how they are making some of the money because the book rate at the post office is really inexpensive.

How about posting Want ads on sites like freecycle.org and craigslist?

  8. Try Amazon, ebay and other online auction sites they are great for books!
