I am having trouble finding vintage look (or 1950's style) aprons here in Australia. Does anyone know where I could find some?

  1. Ebay, 2nd hand shops (especially in rural areas), garage sales, markets.  I've got LOADS of awesome 50s and 60s stuff in the kitchen that's all cost next to nothing from mainly markets and 2nd hand shops.  Or if you or someone you know is handy with a sewing machine it'll be pretty easy to find vintage fabrics or vintage clothing with enough fabric in them to make some aprons - again trying all the above places.

  2. Do you mean the ones that only cover you from the waist down?  I remember helping my Nanna in her kitchen as a child and I thought I was so special as I was allowed to 'choose' which one I would wear!

I live in a rural part of Central Qld, ALL of the 'Vinnies' stores or 'Salvos' too I dare say (we only have a Vinnies!) would have something like that!  Failing that definately try eBay.

I actually have a few, I could post you one if you like :o)

  3. Hi,

Look at this website http://www.gyriot.com/vintage-look-apron... or try Ebay

    Hope this help

  4. Hi, Im from Geelong in Victoria and we have a huge antique, retro kind of store called the Mill Markets.. Great for that kind of thing. Just try antique shops, ebay and markets. You probably wont find much in opp shops. Or you could sew one yourself. If you go to spotlight they have great 50's patterns. I made one, looks cool. I did a half apron with a circular shape at the bottom and a pocket on the front with ties around the back. Very easy to make and something to do if your bored! Good Luck
