I just bought a Garden Safe pesticide product for fruits and vegetables to get rid of my aphid problem. Does anyone know whether or not these products work on tomatoes without harming the growth of the plant? (like can I actually eat my tomatoes afterwards?)

  1. it's ''garden''  ''safe''....... did you read the directions?.. it would say there if it was not to be used on food plants... (it even says on the website on that link you were just given)....... you DID get the one for 'vegetables', right?.. not the one for roses?..........;.don't forget to wash the produce anyway.....

  2. It all depends on what you bought. Always read the directions carefully. there it will tell you what kind of insects it will kill, what plants that they can be used on and how long you have to wait for harvest.

With that aside, aphids don't need chemicals. Just hose them off of the plant. You might have to do this daily for a week or so but the ones that you dislodge won't come back. Make sure that you get the undersides of the leaves because that is where they like to hide.

  3. If your product is Garden Safe Fruit and Vegetable Insect Killer, it will help control aphids on your tomatoes and will not harm the plant if used according to the directions. It is also registered for use on tomatoes that will be harvested and eaten the same day. It is made from chrysanthemums, a natural insecticide.
