Does anyone know whether there is still areas of no man's land in Europe or rest of world?

I remember seeing bits of no man's land in pictures during the cold war were you crossed over into Soviet territory from the allied territory, but what happened to it when the USSR fell.

  1. they are fighting over the north pole now.

    biggest unclaimed land is marie byrd land, pacific side of antarctica.


  2. It's mostly barren or parkland now.  This is for Berlin though.  I bet the land is either barren or under development now if it's in a city along the soviet border in the old USSR.

    After the Unification of Germany, the Wall was demolished. A few sections of Wall remain, for the sake of remembering the events.

    Of the total of 302 watchtowers, 5 are left.

    The so called Todesstreifen (death zone) can still be seen in many places. Large areas of brown, uncultivated land. Sometimes they are now parks.

    There is a private museum at Checkpoint Charlie

    A cemetery near Checkpoint Charlie, remembering the victims of the Wall.
