Does anyone know which is the next xbox console?

I read in the article section of ign that halo 4 is coming up for the upcoming xbox console now i really dont know when this xbox is coming, can you pls tell me when it is coming or any idea and around how much would it cost???? because i was planning to buy 360 in feb-march 2009 and wanted to play all the fantastic games on it but as now this is coming i would prefer to buy this one and can anyone also tell me if this newer version of xbox is backward compatible(meaning that it can even run the xbox 360 games).

The next Xbox is still about 2 years away.  It's not coming out until 2010 at the earliest.  

MS is supposed to give Bungie a conference where Bungie will announce their next project for the 360.  Speculation is that it will most likely be Halo 4.  

Go ahead and buy the 360.  Hopefully by next year, MS will have introduce the Jasper chip, and you don't have to worry about getting the ring of death.

Xbox 360 will be on shelfs or another 4-5 years yet.  If I were you I would buy a 360 or better yet PS3 but if you want halo then 360 is for you.

They don't make new consoles every year.  Roughly every 5 years.

Your not really good when it comes to reading things carefully. What IGN meant, was Halo 4 was coming out for Xbox 360. Don't worry so much. They would never release a new console that fast.
