Does anyone know which university would be better UNE or ANU for <span title="anthropology/archaeology.?">anthropology/archaeology....</span>

I would like to end up doing forensic anthropology and I have heard that UNE and ANU have good programs.Does anyone know which has the better program?

Forensic anthro is some tough stuff, and getting in is getting harder because of shows like CSI and Bones. You need to find a program that has a very focused biological/osteological program.

    You can take a look at the American Anthropological Association website to do some more &quot;digging&quot;. You will need to find a school that has access to some type of body farm for real hands on experience. UTennessee has one of the best, in fact that is where the FBI train their people. Another great place to study is Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. They also run summer courses in subjects like Death Scene Archeo, and Forensic Body ID. The courses are not for credit the last time I checked, but its a certificate course and its open to pretty much anyone. It would be a great way to get started in the field, just to make sure you can handle real bones and bodies, etc.

   If you have your heart set on there two schools then you need to visit their websites and access the faculty page. Examine each professor carefully, find out what they teach, what their research is about, and the titles of papers they have published. This will give you a very good indication of what types of ideas, classes, and opportunities those schools have to offer.
