I know it was written around WWII. I'm using it in a paper and I was wondering if anyone knew the actual author for my works cited page. I'm assuming it is one of those things where guys were just messing around in the barracks and came up with it and it went from there. We used to do c**p like that when we were stuck in the b's all the time.

  1. Hee Hee...I had to sing this on my first jump.

There is no one to attribute the lyrics to.  This question is asked every day at the Airborne Museum or the 82nd Airborne Museum in Fayetteville and Fort Bragg, respectively.

  2. American paratrooper song from World War II.

It is sung by the United States 82nd Airborne Division, the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the United States 101st Airborne Division.
