when questionsa re deleted & violation messages received from Yahoo, is it monitored by Yahoo in the US or is it done here in Oz?

Yesterday I had one removed & received a violation notice for mentioning All Blacks when I was referring to New Zealand rugby players.

It was deemed a racist remark! Whoever removed the answer obviously has no sporting knowledge, not to know of the All Blacks.

No big deal but a bit of a worry really. If one was on the edge & had an account suspended for such a matter would be a bit off putting.

  1. not sure

  2. WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!!!

  3. I totally agree! It is unfair.

  4. Im sure it is done automatically.

Your question would have triggered a filter somewhere because of the  keyword "blacks"

Its basically a load of $hit.

If yahoo wants to get serious about Answers they should have some way for users to respond,

    and broaden the data base

not delete first and (NOT) ask questions later

  5. The Yahoo monitors are wankers, they did a lot of deleting in the cricket section because some stupid Indian user was stirring up trouble and reporting everyone, Yahoo don't even respond to your e-mails when you respond, even though they say if you don't agree with the deletion you can appeal, what a load of c**p.

  6. Welcome. When I had a reference to segregated baseball here in America, it was deleted. The accurate name is the Ne*ro Leagues. The museum is the Neg*o Leagues baseball museum in Kansas City, Mo. I changed my edit so you can see the whole word if you are not familiar with baseball in America before Jackie Robinson integrated the major leagues in 1947.

Yahoo deleted it because of the former word used to refer to the race back in the day.

  7. i don't think any one monitors them personally, some that are deleted make no sense at all, you can give an answer and then it says not an answer, so i think losers just report for the sake of reporting and yahoo just go, bang, your gone. no explanations, nothing, and then if you ask them why, they send an automated response that does not address your email.

it's to be expected, we don't have to report in here though, what difference does it make, if someone doesn't have the same opinion, lets not go the way of the idiots in the cricket section.

  8. We all get ridiculous violations for honest answers - they are American and clueless.

It is a little funny though - only they would get offended by All Blacks...lol

I got a violation for providing a friend very valuable information on depression - Im accused of soliciting.....how insulting :(

  9. yeah I mentioned the horse trainer Bart (can't say his last name) around Melbourne Cup time and his last name was considered to be x*x rated - HILARIOUS!
