Does anyone know who will hire someone w/ 14 yrs office experience who is disabled, Muslim & covers???

I need to obtain a flex hours position somewhere either in the San Fernando Valley or San Gabriel Valley. I have Fibromyalgia & Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I also cover as I am Muslim. My typing speed is around 55wpm or more and I have basic Word, Excel, and Outlook skills. I have minimal human resources experience as well.

Can anyone help me find a job?

Suggest you start with checking out all the hiring websites, such as Yahoo's hotjobs, Monster, etc.

As for your being disabled, Muslim, how you dress, etc., we have laws to protect you from discrimination against you on any and all of these issues.  What I believe you need to do is find the job opening that matches your skills and go for it.  This is a hard, competitive time, so don't lose heart, as it might take a while, but just keep a good attitude, and expect the best.

Try checking out www.craigslist.com

They have lots of jobs there.

Also under the section called gigs, they have other temporary jobs as well as jobs you can do from home.

It seems like the Administrative field would prob. be best for you since you have mainly office related skills.

Craigslist is a great place because small businesses list their jobs there, and they are more flexible with employees some times.

Maybe you should be seeking a job from the Muslim, I am sure there is something they have for you to do. Its a start.

You are who you are.  Step "1!!!" in job searching":  don't disclose your beliefs unless you are asking for certain days off.  It can only backfire (well...some of the time).

(BTW, at least you aren't a scientologist, so you are OK in my book....if I had a book that is.)
