Every McDonalds I go to the Coke tastes different & better. Better than from a can or two liter. Does anyone know why that is? I already have some theories (more syrup, etc.) but I'm wondering if I can catch someone who knows the REAL reason why... stupid question but there are a LOT of people that want to know... Thank you!

  1. It all depends on the syrup to water ratio. Fountain drinks have alot stronger syrups that the cans of Coke. I have stopped drinking soda for about a year now and if I take a sip of my husbands soda it tastes like a mouth full of sugar to me.

  2. They probably mix their syrup a lot stronger than other people. not so much carbonated water and a lot of extra syrup

  3. They get the concentrated stuff and add carbonated water to it.  I've accidentally been served a really watery coke once because they added too much water!  But I agree that it is usually the other way around, they'd have a set formula they use in every store for concentrate to water ratio.

  4. They have to use their own blend somehow. for me it's Taco Bell's Pepsi,(which also seems stronger) but the same thing applies. It's one of those trademark secrets that well never know-lol.

  5. I think all restaurants and shops get the coke from one company and one recipe. For my point of view.. Its taste good because serve with that kind of foods,

  6. It is the mix ratio. It is hard to get the syrup in retail locations to exactly match the taste ouf of the can or bottle. Each location can be different too. Some have the water to syrup ratio higher and others have it lower. Even different soda fountains in the same establishment can be a little different too.
